At the fourth Bradford Championship show, there were two separate adult Silver Agouti classes - one for Silver (old) and one for Silver (new shade). This appears to have been the first time this happened (see "How Mr H A Sheffield Revolutionised the Agouti Fancy" in Library).
There were 9 Old Silver and 11 New Silver adults.Best Slver adult and winner of the Fernie Bowl (which the club still has) was Mr Mortimer's Silver (Old) sow with Mr H A Sheffield's Silver (New) runner-up.
Agouti Cavy Club BIS and winner of the President's Cup was Gilbert & Sons' Golden boar. This cup is now awarded for best Golden at the YSS but in those days there almost certainly wasn't a YSS! There were two clases for adult Goldens (boar and sow) with 20 in each. The under 4 month class had 31 entries and was won by Mr Durham.
The judges were (l-r): W J Speake, L Tingle, H Garrison. H Worlock (who judged the Agoutis), J Mortimer and J Musgrave Sharp.
Messrs Copeland (right) and Chapman (left) of Dunston-on-Tyne with Self Black and Golden Agouti sow (which won the cup).
